This Privacy Policy explains how the Boycott Now mobile application ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Who we are

Boycott Now is a mobile application that lets users scan products, check boycott status, browse related events, and receive notifications. The App is operated by [Company / Organization legal name], and communicates with our backend servers at https://boycottplatform.org.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

When you register, log in, or manage your profile, we collect:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number including country code
  • Password stored only in hashed form

  • Preferred language

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device identifier
  • Push notification token provided by Firebase Cloud Messaging

2.3 Information stored only on your device

  • Your authentication token and cached profile
  • App settings
  • Cached product, event, and notification data

2.4 Information we do not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, SMS messages, financial information, or health data. The App has no ads and no third-party advertising trackers.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Provide core app features
  • Send you notifications about updates and subscribed topics
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the service

4. AI-powered search

The App includes an AI-powered search and scanning feature. When you use it, the text you enter and any product photo you submit are sent to our servers and then processed by OpenAI to generate the response you requested.

  • Inputs are processed only to generate the requested response
  • OpenAI acts as our service provider for this feature
  • Avoid entering personal or sensitive data into AI search fields

5. Push notifications

We use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications. Your notification token and subscribed topics are used only to deliver relevant updates.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. Your information is shared only with:

  • Our backend servers at boycottplatform.org
  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for notification delivery
  • OpenAI for AI search processing

7. Data storage and security

  • Personal data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS
  • Passwords are stored only in hashed form
  • Device-cached data can be removed by logging out or uninstalling the app

8. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account remains active. When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymize personal data unless retention is required by law.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and related data
  • Disable notifications from your device settings

10. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child provided personal data to us, contact us so we can remove it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date and notify users inside the App where appropriate.
